Methismena Amorgiana and bread pavloi

These are traditional Lenten Easter cookies. (They are similar to Kaltsounia that are filled with apricot jam, walnuts, and either cheese or sugar). The ingredients needed for preparation include:
White wine,
Olive oil,
some baking powder and

They are sprinkled with icing sugar.

This is the brown kneaded bread known as “Amorgian Pavlos”, which is dedicated to Agios Pavlos (on the road to Chora from Aegiali). As regards its basic ingredients, it consists of wheat and barley flour which is then cut and baked again to make small rusks, known as “Pavli”.
