Xerotigana

Xerotigana

You should not leave Amorgos without trying the traditional xerotigana. These are the well-known “diples” that are made at Christmas and New Year. Moreover, they are offered at weddings and baptisms together with Amorgian pasteli. As defined by their name, Xerotigana are folded into various shapes (such as the shape of a rose), and then sprinkled with local honey and decorated with sesame seeds.
